Kansas health officials have been touring the state this week, holding public education sessions on a plan to overhaul the state’s Medicaid program.
The plan, called KanCare, would move all beneficiaries into a managed care system. The state hopes to go live with the plan in January.
Officials are wrapping up their week of public meetings this afternoon and evening in Hays and Overland Park.
A session for providers is scheduled from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. today at the Tomahawk Ridge Community Centerin Overland Park. A session geared toward beneficiaries will take place in the same location from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Yesterday, providers packed an auditorium in Salina, appearing cautiously optimistic as they posed questions and concerns to the state about the new plan. Kansas Public Radio's Bryan Thompson was there.
