Two months after President Trump abruptly stopped funding refugee resettlement work, Kansas City-area agencies are fighting to pay refugees’ rent and provide new arrivals with other promised help.
These activists wanted more from Missouri's abortion amendment. They're not done yet
Some reproductive rights activists say that Amendment 3, which Missouri voters passed in November, didn't go far enough in expanding abortion access to help the most vulnerable populations. One sticking point was the amendment's language setting limits at "fetal viability," which does not have a true medical definition.
Iowa City group hopes to replace regional sexual violence services from scratch by fall
