U.S. Auto Sales Seen Continuing To Rebound In 2012
Automakers will report U.S. sales for 2011 on Wednesday. When final figures are calculated, sales of new cars and trucks are expected to reach 12.7 million, up from 11.5 million in 2010 and 10.4 million in 2009, the worst year since 1982. For 2012, analysts expect sales to top 13.6 million.

Counting Bugs In Panama? Get Out Your Tree Raft
Researchers wanted to take a census of all of the insects living in a small section of rainforest in Panama. To do this, they went up in a balloon, hung from a crane and walked atop the canopy in a huge tree raft. All told, they collected almost 130,000 specimens from more than 6,000 species.

Kansas City expects more snow Thursday night. Some schools are already canceling classes
The Kansas City region is expected to get between 2-3 inches of snow Thursday night. And after the blizzard already cancelled classes for several days, Kansas City Public Schools already called a weather emergency day Friday, with no classes in person or online.
Foreign ownership of U.S. farmland is still small but has increased, analysis shows
Foreign investors owned about 46 million acres of U.S. farmland in 2023 — which is less than 4% of all American farmland, according to a recent report. The data comes as more states consider limiting foreign ownership of agricultural land.
