In the second half of Tuesday's Central Standard, we're joined by Kauffman Foundation Executive Robert Litan, who remembers his father David Israel Litan, who had a lifelong passion for making lithographs, painting, and sketching.
While he supported his family in the oil business, David Litan's art was his passion and his gift. Much of his work featured sites of his hometown Wichita, the faces of his family, and inspiration from his Jewish faith. After David passed away, Robert tells us how his family found hundreds of pieces of art stored haphazardly around his father's home, many of which the family had never seen. The best finds have been collected in the book Having Faith: The Collected Art of David Israel Litan. We'll hear from his son Robert about how making the book helped him to tell the story of the father, and process his loss.
