Food Critics: Late Night Dining

Thomas Hawk / flickr

Coming up on Central Standard Friday, host Charles Ferruzza and the Food Critics share their favorite late night dining spots. Where can you get a good meal after 10 o'clock, but before the last bar closes at 3?

This week's panel includes host Charles Ferruzza, of The Pitch and Fat City Blog, Mary Bloch, Around the Block, Emily Farris, Feed Me KC, and Gloria Gale, of 435 South Magazine.

FOOD CRITICS REVIEWED RESTAURANTS:

Charles Ferruzza

Bo Lings (various locations)
Dim Sum is one of the best things they do. Delicious cakes!

Beacon (51st and Main)
Had a really great steak.

Mary Bloch

They've got sandwiches and non-traditional salads. Fresh vegetables. French fries and eggplant fries. Fresh squeezed juices.

The Generous Pour, Capital Grill (4740 Jefferson Street, KCMO)
$25 a person for wine tasting. Can try as much as you want. Only around until the end of summer.

Port Fonda (4141 Pennsylvania, Westport)
Excellent food.

The Local Pig (2618 Guinotte Avenue, West Bottoms)
Homemade sausages, pork chops and "rib-eyes that remind you of Fred Flintstone."

Emily Farris

Aixois Brasserie (1000 Walnut St., KCMO)
A classic French restaurant and bar. Had a delightful lunch. "For two of us, it was very (financially) reasonable." Also a location in Brookside.

Snow & Co. (1815 Wyandotte, KCMO)
Artful frozen cocktails. "I call (them) boozie slushies." They have food too. Nice large space, good place to go with a group.

Gloria Gale

Unforked (7337 W. 119th, Overland Park)
Fabulous kale salad. "Their fish taco is really quite good."

Remedy Food and Drink (500 W. 75th Street, Waldo)
"It's really different."

Stroud's (4200 Shawnee Mission Pkwy Fairway, Kan. / 5410 NE Oak Ridge Dr., KCMO)
