PHOTOS: Audio Tour Highlights Modernist Architecture In Johnson County, Kansas

Modernist architecture flourished in the Kansas City area in the period following World War II, particularly at the time that the Johnson County suburbs were developing in Kansas.

If you want to check out some of the most iconic examples of modernist architecture in Johnson County, the Johnson County Museum now has an audio tour, so you can hear the history while you view the buildings from the window of your car (with the air conditioning blasting.)

If you're a Kansas City history buff, check out these photos of buildings documenting Midtown's past on the Missouri side of the state line.
