Soul Food Festival starring Gladys Knight with Silk, Troop, Lyfe Jennings and Urban Mystic (Soul food and soul music), Gates open at 4 p.m.; show time at 6 p.m. Saturday at E.H. Young Park, 1001 N.W. Argosy Parkway next to Argosy Casino, Riverside. General admission: $35 (bring a lawn chair) 

Jethro Tull’s Ian Anderson plays “Thick as a Brick” I and II (Progressive rock, old and new), 7:30 p.m. Sunday at the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts, 1601 Broadway. Tickets: $39 to $69

David Byrne and St. Vincent (Alternative music), 8 p.m. Friday at Crossroads KC, 417 E. 18th. Tickets: $36 to $76.50 

“Flashdance: The Musical” (Musical based on hit ’80s film), 8 p.m. Thursday through Sunday at Starlight Theatre in Swope Park. Tickets start at $10

Tractor Daze & Touch-a-Truck (Ag fest, antique and classic tractor show, garden tractor pull, kiddie pedal pull, mud run), 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the National Agricultural Hall of Fame, Bonner Springs. Admission: $6 adults; $4 ages 4 to 16
