Gene Clark was born in Tipton, Mo., on Nov. 17, 1944. As a founding member of The Byrds, Clark played a major role in the development of folk-rock and psychedelic rock.

This edition of Local Listen features "I'll Feel a Whole Lot Better," a jangly 1965 gem that Clark wrote as a member of the Byrds.
