Kansas City Irish Festival: Celebration of Irish heritage, with music by the Elders, Red Hot Chili Pipers and Gaelic Storm. 5 to 11 p.m. Friday, 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Crown Center Square, 25th and Grand Blvd. Tickets: $10 (single day); $25 (weekend pass); $5 (Friday night only)

“La Cage AuxFolles”: Broadway musical starring George Hamilton. 8 p.m. Thursday through Sunday; Starlight Theatre in Swope Park. Tickets: Start at $10.

Kansas City Renaissance Festival: Eat, drink and be merrily entertained in a 16th-century English shire! 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday through Monday and weekends through Oct. 14. 628 N. 126th St., Bonner Springs. Admission: $19.95 adults, $17.50 seniors, $10.95 ages 5-12.

Good Guys Rod and Custom Association Mid-Western Nationals: Car show, exhibits, swap meet; 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday. Kansas Speedway, 400 Speedway Blvd., Kansas City, Kan. Admission: $18, $6 ages 7-12.

The Beast and The Edge of HellHaunted houses; Friday and Saturday: each house opens at 7-8 p.m. and closes between 11 p.m. and 1 a.m. 1401 W. 13th St. in West Bottoms. Admission: $27 for one house; $40 combo.
