Missouri's Fifth District Congressional Candidate: Republican Jeanne Patterson

Kansas City, Missouri – In the tight battle for Missouri's 5th congressional district, political novice Jeanne Patterson has proven an enthusiastic campaigner. She's poured 3 million dollars of her own money into the effort, and is working hard to develop a public image based on her experience as a mother and at Cerner, the health technology firm her husband founded. Running against former mayor and city councilman Emanuel Cleaver, Patterson has built HER name recognition ad by ad. KCUR's Sylvia Maria Gross follows along as Patterson introduces herself to area residents in person.

KCUR prides ourselves on bringing local journalism to the public without a paywall — ever.
