Barnes Bows Out

By Frank Morris

Kansas City, Missouri – Kansas City Mayor Kay Barnes says her political career will likely end at City Hall. The two term mayor had been considered a credible candidate for congress or for a third mayoral term. As KCUR's Frank Morris reports, Mayor Barnes says she's got plenty to do without running a political campaign.

Congress just eliminated federal funding for KCUR, but public radio is for the people.

Your support has always made KCUR's work possible — from reporting that keeps officials accountable, to storytelling to connects our community. Help ensure the future of local journalism.
