Ailey Camper Profile Part II-Memory Brown

By Laura Ziegler

Kansas City, MO – More than 200 students are participating in Ailey Camp this summer at 2 different schools, in Kansas City, Missouri, and Kansas City , Kansas. As the kids enter the 4th week, they are accustomed to waking up early and working hard each day. They have a variety of dance classes, as well as classes in art, creative writing , and peronsal development (group dynamics and relations).
Soon, they will start rehearsing for their final performance. It will be held at the Lyric Theater the night of August 2nd. The next day, the students "graduate" from Ailey Camp.
Throughout the summer, camper Memory Brown has been keeping a journal. This piece is the second of her audio diaries and includes her thoughts about her classes and experiences , with sound to help the listener understand what she writes.
