Red Cross Shelter Tour

By Maria Carter

Monroe, LA – After Hurricana Katrina hit the Gulf Coast, many residents of New Orleans and the surrounding area were told it would be as long as a year before they could move back. The Red Cross responded by setting up its only long term shelter in the northeast Louisiana town of Monroe. KCUR's Maria Carter took a tour of the shelter in Monroe and has this report.
