Spring Rise Underway, Battle Continues

Kansas City, MO – After more than a decade of lawsuits and bitter argument, the US Army Corps of Engineers has triggered a small intentional flood on the Missouri River. The experiment signals the dawn of a new way of managing the nation's longest river. Conservationists hope that the extra water will help them understand why an ancient, fish species has all but died out. But with the surge headed their way, some of the commercial interests, traditionally served by the Corps management style, vow to keep fighting the spring rise'. KCUR's Frank Morris reports.
