StoryCorps in KC: Theora Stevenson, Delvin Stevenson and Stephanie Miracle

By edited by Laura Spencer

Kansas City, MO – At StoryCorps recording booths across the country, friends and loved ones interview each other about their lives. Each Wednesday during Morning Edition, we'll bring you a story recorded at the MobileBooth in Kansas City. It was 51 years ago this month that Rosa Parks refused to give up her seat to a white passenger on a bus in Montgomery, Alabama. That action sparked the Civil Rights Movement. And today, we'll bring you a story about the influence in Kansas City.

Congress just eliminated federal funding for KCUR, but public radio is for the people.

Your support has always made KCUR's work possible — from reporting that keeps officials accountable, to storytelling to connects our community. Help ensure the future of local journalism.
