Kansas City artist Lonnie Powell's works are in the private and corporate collections of Sprint Nextel and H & R Block and in the collections of the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum, the American Jazz Museum, and the Nerman Museum of Contemporary Art. But Powell is probably best known for founding The Light in the Other Room, a collective of more than a dozen African American artists. By Laura Spencer
