KANSAS CITY, MO –
KCUR Morning Headlines (3 min 18 sec)

  • Democrats turned out in larger numbers for the Kansas caucuses, despite being easily outnumbered by Republicans in the state.
  • Turnout for both caucuses was higher than expected. And officials from both the Democratic and Republican parties in Kansas say they've heard a number of complaints about problems with the state's presidential caucuses.
  • Cities across Missouri likely are looking at security measures surrounding council meetings following the shootings in suburban St. Louis last week.
  • Missouri's motorcycle helmet law is again the target of a repeal attempt, at least in part. This year's bill would allow motorcyclists age 21 or older to ride without a helmet, unless they're on an interstate highway.

KCUR prides ourselves on bringing local journalism to the public without a paywall — ever.
