By Maria Carter

KANSAS CITY, MO –
KCUR Morning Headlines (3 min 4 sec)

  • Yesterday's wet snow turned to slush on airport runways, grounding flights at Kansas City international airport. Crews tried to clear the runways but because of the slush testing still showed they were too slick for planes to takeoff or land.
  • There were 65 false bomb threats made in Missouri last year, and most of them came from high schools, according to the State Department of Public Safety.
  • A bill in the Missouri House seeks to reduce so-called light pollution and make stars in the sky more visible at night.
  • The Kansas African American Museum is having trouble raising funds. In three years, the museum has raised little more than $12,000 toward a $12 million capital campaign project.
