- The Johnson County grand jury that rendered no indictments against Planned Parenthood issued a one-page report today. In it the 12 citizens called for a review of the law that allowed the grand jury to be convened.
- The Kansas House has passed a bill allowing the construction of two coal-fired power plants, but six votes short of a majority that could override the governor's expected veto.
- A Johnson County jury found John Henry Horton guilty of first degree murder this afternoon. It was the second trial for Horton in the 1974 killing of 13-year-old Lizabeth Wilson of Prairie Village.
