By Steve Bell

KANSAS CITY, MO –
KCUR Evening Headlines (1 min 48 sec)

  • The Johnson County grand jury that rendered no indictments against Planned Parenthood issued a one-page report today. In it the 12 citizens called for a review of the law that allowed the grand jury to be convened.
  • The Kansas House has passed a bill allowing the construction of two coal-fired power plants, but six votes short of a majority that could override the governor's expected veto.
  • A Johnson County jury found John Henry Horton guilty of first degree murder this afternoon. It was the second trial for Horton in the 1974 killing of 13-year-old Lizabeth Wilson of Prairie Village.
