Gloria Martinez Adams is one of the co-founders of the Latino Writers Collective. She grew up in Arizona, but says her relatives in New Mexico who told stories around a wood burning stove influenced her storytelling approach. By Laura Spencer

Kansas City, MO – Here, Gloria Martinez Adams reads three stanzas from her poem called "Walled Mountain Ghost Town." She says this piece is her personal account of growing up in the Southwest and why she left.
