Kansas City, MO –

  • Kansas City Mayor Mark Funkhouser released his latest light rail plan today. Funkhouser will present the draft proposal to a group of Jackson, Clay and Platte County leaders Friday morning, as he tries to get a regional light rail proposal off the ground in time for a November ballot. The 119 mile system includes only 11 miles of actual light rail, plus a streetcar line from roughly Union Station to the Plaza. The rest of it features various forms of bus transportation.
  • The Kansas Lottery Commission has finished negotiating proposals with companies that want to manage casinos in the state. Now the decision about which four companies will be chosen is in the hands of a state review board.

  • No matter what happens in Washington D.C., Kansas City needs KCUR. And KCUR needs you.
