Kansas City, MO – The Platte River is overflowing its banks near Platte City.

In Northeast Missouri, 115 more National Guardsmen have been activated, as flood waters on the upper Mississippi River threaten to break records set in 1993.

Just a week after North Kansas City passed a smoking ban, Prairie Village has followed suit.

Proposed casinos in Sugar Creek and Cape Girardeau are on hold. The Missouri Gaming Commission placed a moratorium on new casinos until voters can decide on a ballot issue in November.
