Kansas City, MO –

  • Citizens and leaders debated a light rail starter route in a council committee this morning. Many were displeased that the existing plan does not connect with Union Station.
  • The full council passed a measure to step up the schedule of mowing weeds on vacant lots. Property owners are then billed for the mowing.
  • Council member Cathy Jolly introduced and ordinance to give the city more power to enforce orders of protection in domestic violence situations.
  • The Overland Park Chamber of Commerce has endorsed extending the public safety sales tax.
