Citizens and leaders debated a light rail starter route in a council committee this morning. Many were displeased that the existing plan does not connect with Union Station.The full council passed a measure to step up the schedule of mowing weeds on vacant lots. Property owners are then billed for the mowing.Council member Cathy Jolly introduced and ordinance to give the city more power to enforce orders of protection in domestic violence situations.The Overland Park Chamber of Commerce has endorsed extending the public safety sales tax.
