Kansas City, MO –
Mayor Mark Funkhouser sought out-of-town advice from fellow mayors today on how to persuade the federal government to fund Kansas City's light rail plans.Mayor Funkhouser says he and the council are still committed to a regional transit system. But he says growth in city-to-city rails service may devalue KCI airport as a northern terminus. The Missouri Farm Bureau heard pitches from Kenny Hulshof and Jay Nixon, and endorsed Republican Hulshof for Governor. The organization has never endorsed a Democrat.
