Mayor Mark Funkhouser sought out-of-town advice from fellow mayors today on how to persuade the federal government to fund Kansas City's light rail plans.

Mayor Funkhouser says he and the council are still committed to a regional transit system. But he says growth in city-to-city rails service may devalue KCI airport as a northern terminus.

The Missouri Farm Bureau heard pitches from Kenny Hulshof and Jay Nixon, and endorsed Republican Hulshof for Governor. The organization has never endorsed a Democrat.
