Kansas City, MO –

  • Missouri US Senator Kit Bond has issued an apology to Todd Graves for actions taken by Bond's staff that led to Graves' firing from his position as US Attorney. Bond staffers say they recommended Graves' firing because he would not try to persuade his Congressman brother to change the way he ran his office.
  • The Greater Kansas City Chamber of Commerce has endorsed the light rail proposal that will be on the November ballot and will contribute to the camapign to pass a light rail sales tax to build the starter line.
  • Missouri Attorney General candidate Michael Gibbons proposed a new cyber-crime unit during a campaign stop in Kansas City. Opponent Chris Koster says there already is one.
  • The defeat of the Wall-Street bail-out plan in the House today created shock waves in stock prices with most local area stocks down 8 to 12%.
