Kansas City, MO –

  • Jackson County Executive Mike Sanders presented the State of the County report today. He says good budgeting has resulted in a forecast that is keeping expenditures in line with revenues.
  • Missouri Secretary of State Robin Carnahan has ordered a Kansas City firm, Petro America Corporation, to stop selling securities. She says the firm is not registered with her office and not providing required investor information.
  • A Douglas County judge has dismissed a lawsuit that accused KU point guard Sherron Collins of lewd actions amounting to sexuual assault.

  • Congress just eliminated federal funding for KCUR, but public radio is for the people.
