Jackson County Executive Mike Sanders presented the State of the County report today. He says good budgeting has resulted in a forecast that is keeping expenditures in line with revenues.

Missouri Secretary of State Robin Carnahan has ordered a Kansas City firm, Petro America Corporation, to stop selling securities. She says the firm is not registered with her office and not providing required investor information.

A Douglas County judge has dismissed a lawsuit that accused KU point guard Sherron Collins of lewd actions amounting to sexuual assault.

Defunded, but not defeated.

Congress just eliminated federal funding for KCUR, but public radio is for the people.
