Kansas City, MO –

  • The Kansas City, MO city council will introduce an ordinance to curb what members say are "predatory towing practices" in the Power and Light District. Council members report that some parking lot owners and attendants have "affiliations" with the tow companies.
  • Some Missouri attorneys are up in arms about proposed new regulations on lawyer advertising. The regulations would limit celebrity endorsements, increase the emphasis on a required disclaimer, and require Bar Association pre-approval of ads.
  • Thieves who took construction materials and tools from a Mission animal shelter may have done the agency a favor. The Pet Connection, has received an outpouring of public support that may allow it to supass original plans
