Kansas City, MO – Contractors believe strong winds toppled a 20-foot-tall scaffold at a Johnson County school work site late Monday.

Kansas City Missouri faces an 85 million dollar budget shortfall and the city manager's budget proposal suggests deep cuts, including a decrease in funding for the arts and cultural attractions.

Missouri Governor Jay Nixon has ordered the Office of Administration to review all current long-term state contracts and those currently up for bid.

The president of the Kansas Board of Regents says a federal economic stimulus bill could help pay for maintenance and repairs at the state's colleges and universities.

Congress just eliminated federal funding for KCUR, but public radio is for the people.
