Illicit drugs shaped like popular cartoon characters, such as Snoopy and Homer Simpson, have started showing up in Kansas City. Missouri Governor Jay Nixon and State Treasurer Clint Zweifel are in Kansas City today, signing a bill that could allow the state to earn more interest on its deposits. The number of people applying for concealed weapons permits in the Kansas City region is on the rise. The Kansas City Area Transportation Authority is cutting service on 24 of its 70 bus routes starting this week. Surgery patients in need of joint replacements could benefit at some point from a new research project at the University of Missouri. Rescuers say a woman who suffered life-threatening injuries after her car plunged into Brush Creek, near the Plaza over the weekend, may have had a heart attack.
