Kansas City, MO – A homelessness task force was launched by Mayor Mark Funkhouser. The 32-member group has until next Fall to deliver a plan to end homelessness in Kansas City.

A group of protestors is asking the Lawrence City Commission to drop a proposal to ban all panhandling in downtown Lawrence.

Missouri's four-year universities have agreed to keep tuition and fees frozen for another year. In exchange, Governor Jay Nixon has agreed to keep higher education budget cuts to a minimum.

The Board of Regents will hear what Kansas Gov. Mark Parkinson will recommend to the state Legislature for next year, and with a state budget shortfall they aren't expecting any good news.

University of Kansas Athletics Director Lew Perkins confirmed that an internal review is underway involving Jayhawk football coach Mark Mangino.

Zack Greinke has become the third pitcher in Kansas City Royals history to win a Cy Young Award.
