Kansas City, MO – The old Bannister Road Honeywell site is not the Department of Energy's favored location for storing toxic mercury. Another facility near Andrews, Texas comes out on top in the DOE's report. Seven cities were on the original list. Residents around the Bannister location had opposed the idea, saying the site is in a flood plain and not a suitable place to store hazardous material. Listen for more stories
