The Missouri General Assembly has passed the state budget and sent it to Governor Jay Nixon eight days before the legally-mandated deadline.

The Missouri House has voted to revise the way the state distributes basic aid to school districts.

The Kansas House will not reconsider a new state law that bans smoking in bars, restaurants and other public places.
