Kansas City, MO – Five rapes in and around the Kansas City Waldo District remain unsolved, as a man has been charged with four similar crimes from 1983 and 1984.

With the wording fixed to avoid commitments the city couldn't make if the e-tax is repealed, the Kansas City council voted yesterday to put two fee systems to improve urban blight on an August ballot.

The council also tentatively agreed to support Jackson County Executive Mike Sanders' transit plan.

The Kansas House will continue debate on a budget plan that would spare education and social services from deep cuts, but won't balance without a tax increase.

The Kansas City Royals fought back from an eight-run deficit last night but couldn't hold on in the late innings, ultimately falling to the Texas Rangers in a 13-12 slugfest.
