Kansas City, MO – The Kansas House approved a sales tax increase to bolster the state budget.

Advocates of a new transportation program in Kansas face only one more hurdle in the Legislature - but it's a big one. The Kansas House plans to vote today on a bill creating an $8.2 billion, 10-year program of highway, bridge and other transportation improvements.

A bill that would help Missouri courts deal with the high number of cases involving intoxicated drivers is stalled in the state Senate with just four days left in the session.
