Walker's Review: Cropsey

What begins as a documentary about a myth turns into one about a nightmare.Cropsey was the name of Staten Island's urban legend, a bogeyman killing machine whose agenda was batted about at various keggers and campfires. But when five children go missing, the community wonders if there's more truth than fiction to Cropsey's repertoire.

The movie is an homage to the fictional film "The Blair Witch Project," and just as creepy. But it also competently unfolds in the manner of chilling crime documentaries like "Paradise Lost." - Steve Walker
