When turbulent doings in Gaza force him to stand her up, she still manages to experience the city in all its chaos and beauty thanks to a native guide (Alexander Siddig).
Her disappointment and loneliness make it seems inevitable that she will become more than just open to travel tips and, in fact, she and the guide evoke minor sparks.
The movie is rather slow-paced but Clarkson is never uninteresting and the city itself is intoxicating. - Steve Walker
