KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Parkville became better-defended from expected Missouri River flooding as two lines of protection have been installed within the past 24 hours: sandbags and a portable steel wall.

Missouri transportation commissioners will consider MoDOT's proposal to downsize itself over the next five years.

Joplin housing is in demand after a deadly tornado destroyed almost 7,000 homes last month.
