KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Flood warnings remain in effect for much of the Missouri River basin until further notice - and that could mean the cities of Leavenworth, Atchison and St. Joseph will be seeing floodwaters for much of the summer.

Kansas health officials are warning people to stay away from the overflowing Missouri River.

KU's efforts to translate cutting-edge research into benefits for patients have received a $20 million jumpstart, courtesy of the National Institutes of Health.

Missouri's budget for next fiscal year includes $1.1 million more for oversight of dog breeders.

The Federal Emergency Management Agency says it will have as many as 60 temporary housing units for in Joplin by the end of the week.
