KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The extreme heat has brought the number of possible heat-related deaths in Kansas City up to 13, and city officials are caution residents to stay cool.

On one of the hottest days of the year yesterday, the city council Planning and Zoning Committee talked about sidewalk cafes.

Two federal data centers in Kansas City are among more than 370 centers that will be closed by the end of next year.

Lawrence residents might someday be able to put donations into old parking meters, rather than handing their money to panhandlers.
