KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Officials at Kansas City International Airport are tightening security ahead of the tenth anniversary of 9-11.

Many Kansas communities in the state are preparing events to mark the 10th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks.

Legislation that would hand over control of the St. Louis Police Department to the city has easily passed a Missouri House committee.

The Kansas City Chiefs open at home against Buffalo on Sunday. Chiefs quarterback Matt Cassel insists he's ready to play.

The Kansas City Royals fell to the Seattle Mariners 4-1 last night; the two teams meet again this evening in Seattle.

Congress just eliminated federal funding for KCUR, but public radio is for the people.
