ACLU Questions St. Joseph Schools About Religious Speakers
The American Civil Liberties Union has warned the St. Joseph School District that it's coming close to breaching the separation of church and state with some of the motivational speakers it has arranged through the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. The issue came to the ACLU's attention after Chicago Bears team chaplain Ray McElroy made several presentations at St. Joseph schools in October. The district's attorney said the district has followed the law and has reviewed its policies on motivational speakers with the person responsible for booking assemblies. Read more here.
Kansas Highway Patrol Start First Training Academy In Two Years
The Kansas Highway Patrol this week will kick off its first training academy since 2010. The highway patrol has had to cut back on training new troopers because of budget cuts in recent years. Listen to more here.
