The KC city council plans to vote today on a funeral picketing ban aimed at Westboro Baptist Church members. All three defendants were convicted in the Hereford House arson case.  That & more news from KCUR.

KC Council To Take Up Funeral Picketing Ban

The Kansas City council will vote Thursday on an ordinance to restrict the Westboro Baptist Church's picketing of military funerals. The council's ordinance is identical to one an appeals court upheld two weeks ago.  Read more here.

All Three Convicted In Hereford House Fire

A federal jury convicted all three defendants in the Hereford House arson trial yesterday. Vincent Pisciotta, Mark Serentino, and part-owner Rod Anderson were found guilty of multiple counts of arson. Anderson was also found guilty of fraud.  Find out more here.

Kansas Voter ID Faces Another Test In November

Requiring voters to show a photo ID has been a controversial issue in recent years with many states considering the requirement.  A photo ID law got vetoed last year in Missouri, but Kansas lawmakers passed a measure last year requiring a photo ID when voting.  That law got its first test in August.  Read more here.
