If you are a regular listener to Morning Edition and All Things Considered, you might note some small changes in the show next week.
NPR, in partnership with member stations like KCUR, is reformatting the broadcast clocks that are used as a template to track the timing of the stories, interviews and newscasts that air each day. The changes go into effect Monday.
KCUR listeners will likely notice that the breaks with local traffic and weather will occur at different times. We will have newscasts at the beginning of each hour as usual, but we will also have local news headlines at :20 and :40 past. The result will be a presentation that better matches listening habits during the hours that are the busiest for the majority of people who listen to Morning Edition. The new presentation also poises KCUR to be nimble in delivery of breaking news.
You’ll still be able to find the same hosts, in depth features, field reports and developing news stories. Regular features like StoryCorps and commentators like Frank DeFord will remains staples of the five-hour broadcast. You can count on being informed, inspired, surprised and amused.
We will be eager to hear your feedback as the changes roll out; send questions or comments to feedback@kcur.org.
