A panel of arts professionals chose two Kansas City artists as this year's Charlotte Street Generative Performing Artists: poet Glenn North and choreographer and dancer Tiffany Sisemore. Each will receive unrestricted cash grants of $5000.

Kansas City, MO – Performance poet Glenn North has shared the stage with poets like Nikki Giovanni and Amiri Baraka. North was recently accepted into the prestigious Cave Canem program for African-American poets. He's currently poet-in-residence and education specialist at the American Jazz Museum in Kansas City, Mo.
Tiffany Sisemore earned a BFA in dance performance from UMKC, studied in New York at the Ailey School, and her choreography has been featured at Wylliams/Henry Contemporary Dance Company among others. Sisemore recently co-produced a new work called "Now We Are A Coda."
A public performance of the artists' work is scheduled for later this fall.
Since it was established in 1997, the Charlotte Street Foundation has supported 70 Kansas City based visual and generative performing artists through annual, unrestricted cash grants, with a total of $432,500.
