Installation Underfoot at the Library

The Plaza branch of the Kansas City Public Library opened in April of 2005 in a brand new building, but it wasn't quite finished. Here, KCAI's Jason Pollen talks about a new installation he designed: carpeting. By Laura Spencer

Kansas City, MO – The Plaza branch of the Kansas City Public Library opened in April of 2005 in a brand new building, but it wasn?t quite finished. Most of the building didn?t have carpeting because of budget issues. All that changed this week...as workers started laying down carpet in the children?s section. KCUR?s Laura Spencer talked to Jason Pollen, professor and Chair of the Fiber department at the Kansas City Art Institute, on the first day of the installation at the library. Pollen designed the carpet and gave an overview.
