Kansas City, MO – At StoryCorps recording booths across the country, friends and loved ones interview each other about their lives. Each Tuesday during Morning Edition, we'll bring you a story from the MobileBooth in Kansas City. Darryl Burton was 22 years old, and had just enrolled in college, when he was found guilty of a murder he did not commit. Burton was finally exonerated in 2008, at the age of 46. He talks with his friend and case manager, Jeff Page of the Catholic Charities re-entry program, about his incarceration.
Burton now works for Catholic Charities as a mentor in their re-entry program.
StoryCorps MobileBooth was stationed at 63rd Street and Brookside Boulevard, September 9, 2010 to October 2, 2010. StoryCorps in Kansas City is sponsored by Mid-Continent Public Library.
