Mission, KS – As a gauge of the state of the economy, foreclosures and evictions tell a story that won't be denied. They shatter stereotypes of poor neighborhoods and the chronically unemployed.

One part of the Kansas City metro region that used to be immune is Johnson County, Kansas. KCUR's Dan Verbeck has more of the story.

Congress just eliminated federal funding for KCUR, but public radio is for the people.

Your support has always made KCUR's work possible — from reporting that keeps officials accountable, to storytelling to connects our community. Help ensure the future of local journalism.
