Shawnee Mission, Kan. – In recent months, parents in the Shawnee Mission School District have come out in large numbers to weigh in on budget cuts and school closures. On Tuesday, they'll have a chance to vote for some of the school board members making these decisions for the next four years. Four seats on the seven member board are contested. To hear more about the key issues facing the Shawnee Mission School District, KCUR's Sylvia Maria Gross sat down with Kristen Babcock, a staff writer for the Johnson County Sun, who covers education.
An in depth look at the candidates can be found at the Johnson County Sun.
