Updates To KCUR Events Calendar Offerings

KCUR is ending its community events calendar and focusing on its own live events, like Statehouse Blend Live. A new calendar will be posted soon.

For decades KCUR has been committed to covering arts and culture in the Kansas City metro (and beyond!). And for many years, the arts team at KCUR also maintained a community events calendar focused on the local arts and culture scene.

Today, that calendar will be turned off.

As the digital landscape evolves, we have found that people seek out event opportunities on social sites like Facebook rather than our website. In addition, KCUR has grown significantly in recent years and that growth has included an emphasis on our own live events.

In the coming weeks, a new calendar will be featured on kcur.org — a calendar of KCUR sponsored and affiliated events. Almost every week KCUR is out in the community facilitating conversations, highlighting people and issues and engaging the community at large. In addition to our own presence on social media, we need a place where all these events can be featured.

The Kansas City community continues to have a number of events calendars that take submissions — The Kansas City Star, ArtsKC and others.

Thanks for your understanding at this exciting time of growth for KCUR. We hope to see you at one of our events in the near future, or at one of the many wonderful events at other organizations across the city.

If you have questions or comments, please email web@kcur.org.
