A judge’s order allows a mother of two children in the Gardner Edgerton district to once again go to school property and events, after the district barred her for sharing photos of a classroom with a social media account known for posting inflammatory messages.

The complaint against "Lily and Dunkin" came from one Johnson County parent who has repeatedly challenged books she finds objectionable. A special committee overwhelmingly recommended to keep the book in circulation, but the school board voted this week to remove it anyway.

Once a chemical storage area, Olathe’s Pollinator Prairie has since been reclaimed as an ecological habitat hosting hundreds of native plants. A recent event showed off its role as a stopover for migrating pollinators like monarchs.
